The Fresh Pantry, IGA Bondi is a new convenience/small store format concept from Metcash, located near Sydney’s Bondi Beach. With opening dates imminent, Allworx Australia (division of Skope Group Services Australia) was introduced to assist the Bondi Pantry IGA project at a time when it had a number of challenges including tight timeframes and existing building & services constraints. With our team of experienced project management experts, we were able to help our client identify and resolve issues that were hampering the store's opening date. We were able to assist with obtaining required certifications, solving refrigeration noise issues and structural works due to wall removal, to allow the store to open on time.
Solving refrigeration noise issues:
In a normal refrigeration installation, air cooled condensers are generally placed on a roof or outside areas for air flow purposes. In this instance, due to neighbours in very close proximity we had to find an alternative solution to meet the local authorities previous approvals for this site. Our team investigated a number of engineering alternatives with the conclusion being, to place the condensers in an original acoustic enclosure. This brought many challenges including working in a very tight space with acoustic and heat load issues.
Following on from this challenge, we assisted in getting approvals for this work allowing the store to open and trade on time. It was a delight to see our client really happy with the end results. The Fresh Pantry, IGA is a new concept in Australia, specifically tailored to meet the local customers need for convenience shopping. We were proud to be a part of this project and look forward to seeing the success of this new store.
